Matamonaoa Resort!  Beautiful, private island resort!  I love how tiny the island is, and how pretty the beaches are.  It  has a castaway feel!


Remote Resort!  I love how forest-y this is!  It reminds me of being a kid and spending the day wandering around outside in the summer.

Why go...beautiful islands that are tropical and forest-y at the same time!  A mixture of French and Melanesian cultures!


Lots of awesome museums, scuba diving, and hiking!  I've never seen such clear water right next to a forest; it's so beautiful!

Why go...Guam is a super cool tropical island with lots and lots of really fun, touristy things to do!  Scuba, traditional Chamorro culture, beautiful gardens, and lots more!

Lina'La'  Living Village Cultural Museum!  Called a "beach and cultural park."  Wow!  You can learn crafts, taste food, see traditional culture, and enjoy the beach!
LoveLand! Adults-only erotic sculpture garden! Who doesn't love to see odd and unusual things!
Lots of luau-style dinners around the island.

Visit Hamamoto Tropical Fruit World!  "A fruit experience!"  Wow!  Walk in beautiful gardens!  Sample unusual fruits!  Learn about local agriculture!

Fish Eye Marine Park!  Underwater viewing station and over-water observation deck!  

Underwater World, an awesome aquarium where you can dive with the sharks!  


Pacific Islands Club Resort!  This is a pretty hotel on the beach with a "swim-thru-aquarium!" A swim-thru aquarium is heaven for scardy cats like me!  They also have traditional craft classes!

Why go...A lake full of sting-free jellyfish!  Scuba diving on a beautiful tropical island!  A unique, matrilineal culture!





This would be one of my favorite memories!  Peaceful!  Beautiful!  And other-worldly!  Ooh La La!

Northern Mariana Islands!

Why go...Super-pretty islands with lots of beautiful hiking and snorkeling!  An interesting mixture of indigenous Chamorro culturea and the colonizing Spanish and Japanese cultures! 



Saipan! Fiesta Resort is a lovely hotel on the beach.  It has a spa, and a luau-style dinner show! 


Marianas Trekking!  Hike to the Forbidden Island!  Snorkel in the Grotto!  Paddle around the island in a clear kyak!  



Federated States of Micronesia!

Why go...unique culture that practices a caste system, scuba diving on a beautiful tropical island!

New Zealand!

Why go...The Southern Alps!  Geothermal activity!  Beaches and forests!  Also, a little bit of Victorian England as far away from the UK as possible; I love the idea of such a far away replica - like twins separated at birth!  

No matter what method you chose to get on the water, visiting Milford Sound in Fiordland is a must.


NORTH ISLAND

Bay of Plenty.  Beachy tourist spot.  White Island - an active marine volcano that you can walk on!  Matahui Lodge.  



Taranaki.  Beautiful gardens and museums!  Nice Hotel. 

Taranaki has been referred to as the ‘garden of New Zealand’ since pioneering times


Rotorua.  Moari Cultural Village, California Redwood Forest, volcanic valleys, museums, hot springs. Solitaire Lodge.

Bay of Islands.  This bay has a bunch of tiny, beachy islands; you can take a cruise to visit them all.  You can also visit the Kauri trees; some of the largest and oldest trees in the world!  Wake up to the beautiful view from Eagles Nest Resort!

Waitomo/Hamilton.  Swim throught the Waitomo glow worm caves; like a beautiful constellation of stars underground!  Kawhia black sand hot water beach, and gardens.  You can stay in a very hobbity inn at the Underhill Valley Earth House.

Coromandel.  Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach; if you dig a little pool on the beach, your little pool will fill with warm water that is always right underneath the surface of the sand on account of New Zealand's mega geothermal activity.  Manawa Ridge Lodge. 




SOUTH ISLAND

Fjiordland National Park. Kyak, dive, hike, cruise.

Christchurch.  Neat museums and gardens, River Avon, Antarctic Museum (simulation of  Antarctica where you can experience an antarctic storm!).  Peppers Clearwater Resort. 



Takaka.  Ex-pats from all over the world come to live in this eccentric town!  Ora Bed and Breakfast.

OUTLYING ISLANDS

Chatham Islands.  Remote island life!  Hotel Chathams, Traveller's Rest.

Sub-Antarctic Islands.  To see a non-icy environment that is isolated and inhabited only by animals!  Polar Cruises.
